FAQs
How do I seal tea bags or stand up pouches? TOP
You can seal the heat sealable tea bags or stand up pouches with an ordinary household iron on medium heat. Watch carefully - it takes just seconds to laminate the bags or pouches together. Too much heat will cause the layers to separate. An impulse sealer may be easier to use than an iron when sealing large quantities.
Will fragranced products dissolve the plastic on the Stand up Pouches? TOP
Stand up Pouches are excellent for packaging bath salts, scrubs, lotions and
such that contain either fragrance or essential oils. The food grade, laminated
plastic really is quite durable. The Stand up Pouches should perform well when
used with customary skin safe ratios of fragrance or essential oils.
How do I fill Malibu Tubes? TOP
It's easiest to fill the tubes while your lotion or product is still warm, thin and pourable. A funnel may be useful when pouring. If your product is cool or too thick you may need to squeeze it into the tube. Useful tools for this are a zip lock freezer bag with a small piece snipped off the corner, a pastry bag with a large tip, a large squeeze bottle with a tip or a large jar/bottle with a pump dispenser. Very thick lotion tends to pool near the opening as you fill and you may need to gently tap the tube down onto the countertop or table to make the lotion settle. If you're filling very many tubes it's helpful to stand them upright, tightly fit into a box or similar container.
What size labels are best for Malibu Tubes? TOP
Here are the maximum label sizes suggested by the
manufacturer:
2 oz Malibu Tubes: Label size - 1 3/8” x 2 3/8”
4 oz Malibu Tubes: Label size - 1 3/8” x 3
3/8”
6 oz Malibu Tubes: Label size - 1 3/8 x 4 1/2”
Are your tins sealed? Will they rust? TOP
Our slip tins are coated with a clear, food grade varnish. The tins will not
rust if used for oil based products such as balms, salves or lotion bars.
Prolonged contact with products containing water, such as lotion, could possibly
cause the tins to rust. You would need to do your own testing, however, to
ascertain the compatibility of your products.
